Tomorrow, the work continues.
Over the past year, I have been incredibly blessed with the experience of a lifetime campaigning to have the honor of serving as your Winnebago County Board representative. I am so thankful to all of the wonderful people I’ve met, the support I’ve received, and to the voters of the 17th District. After reviewing the at large ballots today, I am conceding this election to my opponent.
While this election did not have the result I had hoped for, and there's a healthy dose of sadness in knowing my campaign did not come to a successful conclusion, the overwhelming emotion I feel is gratitude: to the hundreds of supporters who came alongside us in this effort, to the candidates and elected officials who provided mentorship and encouragement along the way, to my neighbors and the dozens of District 17 residents I've had the privilege to meet and talk with about our hopes for our community.
I am deeply grateful to my family and my friends for providing me an incredible support system. To the dozens of supporters and volunteers who gave of your time, talents, and treasure, I am forever thankful.
Even though this campaign has concluded, tomorrow, the work continues. Each of us has a role to play in making Winnebago County stronger and more resilient, and I look forward to working alongside many of you and finding new ways to ensure the future of our community is bright. To my opponent, I hope this campaign has renewed your sense of purpose and commitment to providing the best possible service to the people of District 17 and the county at large, and I commend you for giving another four years of your time and energy to public service.
Tonight, my hope for Winnebago County is not diminished! Thank you, so much, for your support.
